Conjugating the Marriage Verbs
The verb жени́ться is a second conjugation verb with a stem in жен- +ся. It can be either an imperfective or a perfective verb. Context will tell you which aspect and tense is meant.
The marriage expression for women выходи́ть/вы́йти за́муж за кого́? literally means “to go out after a husband,” reflecting the folk tradition that at marriage the bride left her family and joined the household of her husband’s family. The verb of motion выходи́ть/вы́йти conjugates as follows.
